Mini Facelift
Mini Facelift
The mini facelift is a less invasive facelift technique able to improve the signs of aging in the lower face and jowls. There are different techniques which may be used, allowing the procedure to be customized to address the patient's particular problems. Skin laxity in the neck, jowls and jaw line can all be improved, restoring a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.
If you are seeking an improvement in the appearance of loose facial and neck skin with little downtime, then the mini facelift may be a good option for you. Dr. Wise is happy to meet with you for a consultation to discuss the possibilities available to you through cosmetic surgery and whether or not the mini facelift can best address your needs. Because the mini facelift cannot provide the same dramatic results of a full facelift, it is often reserved for patients with less extensive sagging of the lower face and neck.
The mini facelift is commonly performed with local anesthesia and sedation. Incisions made for the surgery are generally fewer and less extensive than with a traditional facelift and are typically located along the hairline and/or near the ears. Their location usually allows for well-concealed scarring. The exact nature of the surgery will vary for each patient but in general the facial muscles may be altered, excess skin removed, and the skin re-draped. Patients can expect the surgery to be shorter in duration than a traditional facelift.
After the mini facelift, the recovery is less extensive than after a traditional facelift. Bruising and swelling are decreased but can still be expected. Most mini facelift patients find that they're well enough to return to work after about one week, though you will be advised to refrain from rigorous activities for a longer period of time.
