The mini necklift is a less invasive necklift technique able to improve the appearance of loose or excess skin of the neck. During surgery, neck banding and loose neck skin are removed or tightened, restoring a more youthful jaw line.
If you are seeking an improvement in loose skin and banding of the neck with little downtime, then the mini necklift may be a good option for you. Dr. Wise is happy to meet with you for a consultation to discuss the possibilities available to you through cosmetic surgery and whether or not the mini necklift can best address your needs. Because the mini necklift cannot provide the same dramatic results of a traditional necklift, it is often reserved for younger patients with less extensive sagging and banding of the neck.
The mini necklift is commonly performed with local anesthesia and sedation. Incisions are less extensive than those made for a traditional necklift and may be located under the chin and/or behind the ears. Their location allows the resulting scars to be well-concealed and nearly imperceptible. The exact nature of the surgery will vary for each patient but in general the neck muscles may be altered and excess skin will be removed. Patients can expect the surgery to be shorter in duration than with a traditional necklift.
After the mini necklift, patients can expect a shorter, less extensive recovery than that associated with a traditional necklift. Patients can expect some bruising and swelling, though these side effects will be milder. Most mini necklift patients find that they're well enough to return to work after about one week, though you will be advised to refrain from rigorous activities for a period of time.
