Mayra comes to our practice with many years of experience performing injectable treatments, with further clinical training under the mentorship of Dr. Wise. Patients only need one lip filler treatment, but the results will fade over time. The body naturally breaks down the filler used to enhance your lips, and as such, the longevity of lip filler treatments varies per patient. Retreatment will be needed over time, although the longevity of lip filler typically increases with each future treatment.*
Lip filler treatments are very short, requiring about fifteen to thirty minutes, depending on what you hope to achieve. The area is numbed beforehand, either topically or with nerve blocks, and Pro-Nox (Nitrous Oxide) is available upon request to ensure patient comfort.
As with any dermal filler injections, it is typical to have some bruising and swelling. Since everyone's body is different, it's difficult to predict whether either will occur, but both typically subside on their own within a few days, and the lips will settle into their new form within about two weeks. Full after-care instructions will be provided during your visit to the Wise Center for Plastic Surgery.
